Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how this website (the "Site") handles information. The Site is operated by a company established in Japan ("we", "us", "the operator"). We do not publish our corporate name, our address, or the name of our representative on the Site; Section 8 explains how you can obtain them.
1. Summary
The Site uses analytics cookies, and keeps no access logs of its own. There is no advertising cookie and no advertising tag on any page.
The analytics cookies are described in Section 3. How they are handled depends on where you are:
- In the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, no analytics script is loaded and no cookie is set at all. We do not serve analytics to those regions, so there is nothing to consent to and no consent banner is shown.
- Elsewhere, the analytics described in Section 3 run on the basis of this notice, and you can turn them off at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Everything else we know about how the Site is found and used comes from two aggregate reports that other companies produce:
- Google Search Console, which reports aggregate Google Search statistics (queries, impressions, clicks, positions) for this domain to us. It does not place cookies on your device through this Site.
- Affiliate network order reports from the Amazon Associates Program and the eBay Partner Network, which tell us how many qualifying orders were attributed to our links. See Section 4.
2. Access logs
Request logging is switched off in our content delivery and storage configuration, and we do not receive, store, or analyse access logs for the Site. We hold no IP addresses, user agents, or request records arising from your visit.
Our content delivery provider (Amazon Web Services) may, like any network operator, hold short-lived operational records within its own systems for the purpose of running and protecting the service. We do not enable, request, or access those records, and they are governed by AWS's own terms and privacy notice rather than by this policy.
If we ever enable request logging, this section will be updated before it is switched on, and will state the data categories, purpose, legal basis, retention period, processors, and international transfers involved.
3. Analytics and cookies
Where analytics runs. We do not serve analytics to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. When a request reaches us from one of those regions, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set, so there is nothing to consent to and no consent banner is shown. The rest of this section describes what happens for visitors elsewhere.
Tool. We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC ("Google"), to count visits and to see which pages are read. We use it to decide which parts of the database to extend. We do not use it for advertising, and no advertising product is enabled on this property.
Cookies set. When analytics is active, the following first-party cookies are stored in your browser by the analytics script:
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes one browser from another, so that repeat visits are not counted as new ones | 2 years |
_ga_<property id> |
Keeps the state of the current visit for the analytics property | 2 years |
No other cookie is set by the Site.
How the region is determined. Our own server tells the page which country the request came from; no third-party service is consulted. If that cannot be established — the check fails, times out, or returns something unusable — no analytics is loaded. The uncertain case is always the quiet one.
Opting out. Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer at any time. It stops
measurement, attempts to delete the _ga cookies described above, and records your refusal in
your browser's local storage so that later visits stay quiet. That record stays in your browser
and is not sent to us. There is no banner to dismiss, because none is shown.
Legal basis. For the visitors we do measure: our legitimate interest in understanding which pages of the database are used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where that regulation applies at all), exercised on the basis of this notice and subject to the opt-out above. We do not rely on consent, because we do not measure the visitors from whom consent would be required.
Retention. Analytics data is kept for 2 months in the analytics property — the shortest retention period Google Analytics 4 offers — after which the event-level records are deleted. The cookie lifetimes are those stated in the table above.
Role of Google. Google acts as our processor for this analytics data, under Google's data processing terms. Google's own handling of the data is described in Google's privacy policy.
International transfers. Analytics data may be processed in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (with its UK Extension, and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework), and transfers are made on that basis.
Advertising features are off. Google signals is disabled and ad personalisation is disabled on this property. Consent for advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation is set to "denied" at all times and is never requested. We do not build audiences, and we do not share analytics data with advertising products.
Representative in the EU. We have not appointed a representative under Article 27 GDPR. Our processing of EU visitors' data is occasional; it is limited to email you choose to send us, because no analytics is served to those regions; it is unlikely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms; and it involves no special categories of data under Article 9 and no data relating to criminal convictions under Article 10. We keep this assessment under review and will appoint a representative if it ceases to hold.
If a third-party service we link to (see Section 4) sets cookies on its own domain after you leave the Site, that is governed by that third-party's own policy, not this one.
4. Outbound links to Amazon and eBay
Some pages contain links to Amazon.com and eBay through their respective affiliate programs (Amazon Associates and the eBay Partner Network). See our Affiliate Disclosure for details on these programs. Once you click through to Amazon or eBay, your interaction with those sites is governed entirely by their own privacy policies and cookie practices, not by this Site. We do not receive any personal information about you from those clicks — only aggregate, anonymized reporting on which links were followed (for example, click counts), where the affiliate program provides it.
When analytics is active and you have not declined it, a click on one of these links is counted as an event in the analytics property described in Section 3. The event records which retailer was chosen and which page the link was on. It records nothing about you beyond what Section 3 already describes.
5. Contact form and email
If the Site provides a way to contact us (for example, to report an error in the database), any information you voluntarily submit (such as your email address and message) is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not added to a marketing list or shared with third parties.
6. Your rights under GDPR and UK GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we do not serve analytics to you: no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set when your request reaches us from those regions (Section 3). The only personal data we may hold about you is therefore what you voluntarily send us by email, as described in Section 5.
- We act as the data controller only for the personal data described in Section 5 — the contents of email you choose to send us. We do not act as a controller or processor for data collected by third-party sites you visit through our links, or for the operational records our content delivery provider keeps within its own systems (Section 2).
- You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict our processing of it. To exercise these rights, contact contact@vramtable.com.
- There is no cookie-consent banner, because nothing on the Site requires your consent when you reach it from those regions.
- If you believe we have not addressed your request appropriately, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
- Our corporate name, our address and the name of our representative are available on request. See Section 8.
7. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, generally applies to businesses that meet certain revenue or data-volume thresholds. We do not currently meet those thresholds. Regardless, we do not sell or share personal information, and if you are a California resident and have provided us your information (for example, via email), you may still contact contact@vramtable.com to request access to or deletion of that information, and we will honor reasonable requests.
8. Japan — Act on the Protection of Personal Information
We are established in Japan, so Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information ("APPI", Act No. 57 of 2003, as amended) applies to us wherever you live. This section is in addition to Sections 6 and 7, not an alternative to them.
- Who operates this Site, our address, and the name of our representative. We do not publish these on the Site. We will tell anyone who asks: write to contact@vramtable.com and we will answer without delay. Article 32(1) of the APPI expressly permits this "answer without delay upon request" method in place of continuous publication.
- What retained personal data we hold, and why. Only the contents of email you choose to send us, used solely to answer you and to correct the database — see Section 5. We keep no access logs (Section 2).
- Requests about your own personal data — disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use (APPI Articles 33 to 35): write to contact@vramtable.com. Here we do need to confirm that you are the person the data concerns, and then we respond without delay. We do not charge a fee.
- Complaints. Write to the same address. We do not belong to an accredited personal information protection organisation, so there is no third-party complaint body to name here.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last modified" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent substantive change.
11. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests relating to your personal data, can be sent to contact@vramtable.com.
Operator: VRAM Table. Our corporate name, address and representative are available on request — see the Japan section above.
